Technically it snowed over the Thanksgiving weekend, but not enough to stick and looked more like frost. Since we weren’t around that weekend, our first snow of the season occurred on December 1st. The morning of the 2nd, we were awoken by a phone call from Nicholas’s teacher that school was canceled. Hurray! Luckily, the roads weren’t too bad and our good friends came over for a day long play date. We went sledding on a hill near our neighborhood for a bit and then the kids played outside in our driveway and back yard. Nicholas collided with a sled and lost part of his tooth. An adult tooth of course. (See picture in the left side bar). We’re headed to our first Belgian dentist on Monday to fix it.
The snow continues to come down, and I think this will be a long, cold winter for us. Luckily, we’ve already booked our next vacations when the kids are out of school (Ohio for Christmas, Dubai in February, and a Mediterranean cruise in April) so we have a lot to look forward to. :)
