Easter break trip to the States
Easter break trip to the States
Nicholas and Lindsey got two weeks off school for the Easter break and we took advantage of that and headed to the US. Traveling there was smooth and uneventful. We celebrated Easter at Grammy and Papa’s house with a delicious brunch and an Easter egg hunt for the cousins. We spent our first week going to several doctor appointments, and playing outside enjoying the glorious spring weather, including a fun trip to the Columbus Zoo. At the end of the week, Nana and Poppi flew in from Kansas and we drove to Dayton to celebrate Campbell’s 1st birthday! We had a family photo shoot in a beautiful park area called Hills and Dales in matching outfits. Lots of fun! The kids and I left Dayton and headed to Phoenix for a quick 3 day visit to soak up the Arizona sunshine, visit with friends, and get in their annual visit with the pediatrician. Believe it or not, I didn’t take a single picture in Arizona, so you’ll just have to take my word for it that we were there! :) As we headed back to Columbus, the volcano in Iceland was erupting and causing traffic delays to and from Europe. We found out an hour before we had to head to the airport that our flight was indeed canceled to Brussels and we were able to extend our visit in Ohio. I joke that we were “stuck” in the US for an extra week, but realistically, no one was complaining. We all enjoyed the extra time with friends and family, knowing we won’t return to the States until Christmas. As you’ll see from the pictures I did take, we had a fantastic visit!
